Train Roof Access
Working At Height were asked to use their many years of experience in supplying the rail industry to try and solve train roof access for Arriva Trains, this is something we have done many times inside a depot but a first outside, the brief was to offer some protection from the elements, we therefore designed the platform with a roof, this would provide protection from rain so long as it is not 'horizontal'!
The system offers access onto the train roof and guardrail protection on all four sides of the working area, the platform either side of the train provides a rest area and space to store tools and equipment whilst work in being carried out, the whole structure is mounted on base plates and predominantly manufacture in aluminium with anti-slip marine ply decking.
