Working At Height in snow

On Monday 2nd February, the Working At Height Team each woke up to find a 20cm blanket of snow covering their cars and roads, unlike anything we’ve seen for at least 20 years.

For head office staff it was more like Siberia than Surrey, however with the same spirit that got Scott to the South Pole and Hillary up Everest, Working At Height staff trudged their way in.

Whilst millions of Britain’s working population were stranded at their homes, each of the access platform specialists arrived one by one into the office looking more like snowmen and women of course, Working At Height’s new sales and marketing executive Catherine explains, ‘When I first looked out the window this morning it was so exciting, however my first instinct was to get ready for work, my second instinct was to jump back under the quilt, and third was to rush out and build a snowman, being a relentless advocate of working at height safely I went with my first instinct!’

As the snow turns to sludge as the sun eventually turns winter into spring we won't forget the 2nd of February 2009 in a hurry, only once every 20 years do we see a weather event like this, perhaps one every year would be more fun, for the kids at least!
