Track Mounted Rail Pit Board

27th July 2017

We were asked to innovate to prevent engineers standing on tip toe to reach the underside of trains, to create a 3.00m long mobile pit board that could easily be moved the length of the pit road, and with a braking system.

Pictured is the delivered and hugely successful result, with the default position being brakes on, the brake handle moved left or right to allow the flanged rail wheels to move freely, with the brake being applied when the handle is released.

Finished with aluminium anti-slip tread plate, and lay flat lifting cleats so the it can be craned into position.
