Working At Height Ltd sponsor The Phoenix Twirlstars

The Phoenix Twirlstars are a local corps based in Hindhead. They have a dedicated team of 11 Twirlers aged from 8 years to 29 years. Phoenix Twirlstars have been established since 1992 and are loyal members of the IBTA (International Baton Twirling Association).

Their aim is to teach baton twirling in a positive, fun, safe and open environment. Coached by Tabby Powell and Tracey Clark, with the assistance of Claire and Hayley, Phoenix have enjoyed many successes over the years at IBTA run and Open competitions, with our most recent being winning the Most Progressive Corps award at the 2010 Nationals. Working At Height Limited have been so impressed with their efforts and success that we have sponsored the team for 2010/2011.

Tabby Powell explains 'We take pride in our original approach to team routines and are always trying new and different music and choreography ideas. The primary objectives of the IBTA are to promote the highest standards of baton twirling techniques, coupled with good sportsmanship and ethics. We twirl to competition and examination standards and have a group of highly trained and dedicated teachers available to visit our member corps, including visiting teachers and judges from the USA and Canada.
