Fixed Access Platforms at Remote Railway Sidings: Enhancing Safety and Efficiency

24th July 2025

Fixed access platforms installed at remote railway sidings play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of rail operations.

These robust, purpose-built structures provide secure and reliable access for maintenance crews, cleaning teams and loading personnel in areas often lacking standard depot infrastructure.

By eliminating the need for temporary or improvised solutions, fixed platforms reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls, especially in isolated locations where emergency response times may be delayed.

Their presence also streamlines operations by enabling safer, quicker access to rolling stock and equipment.

Installed this week, the platform shown has been designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, our platforms in these locations are typically made from aluminium with yellow high visibility GRP grated anti-slip surfaces.
